Rocky Flats Stewardship Council Applications 10/1
Applications are currently being accepted for two community representatives' seats on the Rocky Flats Stewardship Council. The Rocky Flats Stewardship Council includes ten city and county governments surrounding Rocky Flats, as well as four members of the community, who oversee the ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the former Rocky Flats nucelar weapons plant. Historically, the Stewardship Council has overwhelmingly favored the Department of Energy's narrative of Rocky Flats, being granted over $100,000 per year by the DOE. It is crucial that the Council include more voices from the public who will offer diverse opinions on the ongoing oversight of Rocky Flats.
Stewardship Council Members serve two year terms, and interviews will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021. Applications are due Friday, October 1, 2021.
