Killing Gaza intimately examines Israel's fifty-one day offensive in summer 2014 against Gaza and Hamas. Max Blumenthal and Daniel Cohen document the immediate devastation of the assault, which killed over 2,200 Palestinians and destroyed over 100,000 homes. With its trenchant critique of Israel and the Western governments that arm it, and its humanizing counter-narrative of dispossessed Palestinians, Killing Gaza presents a perspective on the Middle East that many in the West do not get to see. Beyond that, the film explores Gazans' struggles to survive and resist Israeli oppression through everyday acts, the arts (poetry, painting, dance), and education.

Director and co-producer Max Blumenthal is an award-winning journalist and bestselling author. His articles and video documentaries have appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Nation, The Guardian, Al Jazeera English and many other publications. He is the author of Republican Gomorrah: Inside the Movement that Shattered the Party, Goliath: Life and Loathing in Greater Israel, and The 51 Day War: Ruin and Resistance in Gaza. His most recent documentary Je Ne Suis Charlie reveals the surge of Islamaphobia and political repression in France after the 2015 Charlie Hebdo massacre.
