Action Alert! HB26-1030 is up for a hearing on Thursday April 23 TOMORROW!
Colorado Representatives have introduced HB26-1030, a bill that would promote the buildout of data centers in Colorado by creating a new Colorado data center development authority under the Office of Economic Development, and giving data centers a 20-year sales & use tax writeoff (with the possibility of 10-year extensions).
This bill, at its core, is a giveaway to big tech;. energy and water resources would be prioritized for data centers, potentially used to power AI surveillance and ICE, at the cost of Coloradans’ health, safety, tax dollars, and environment.
