Urgent action alert from our friends at NIRS! Please join us in sending a one-click letter to the Department of Energy (DOE) by the end of today, 3/17, and call for just and transparent energy policies. The DOE is seeking input on how to set up a new program allocating $6 billion in subsidies to uneconomical nuclear reactors that would otherwise be shut down. To be clear, this is a bad bailout. This multi-billion dollar program should instead be invested in clean, renewable energy, NOT dirty and expensive nuclear reactors. And, if DOE does its job right, it will find that NO reactor in the country qualifies to receive these bailouts.
