Neighborhood Vigils

We held a vigil on our block of Marine street and it engaged neighbors eager to have a voice in the profound social change and lament currently growing. Several young activists started the event by talking to neighbors door to door, briefly, to announce the event, then writing and delivering a simple invitation with date, time and place, a phone number to call with questions, and a statement about honoring George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade and Ahmaud Arbery and other black lives lost to police violence. They suggested bringing pictures, poems or flowers. If you would like such an event in your neighborhood, the RMPJC would like to offer assistance in planning, and would welcome such events all over Boulder and beyond.
