Compassionate Communication Workshop, June 28th

When: Thursday, June 28th, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm Where: Alfalfa's Community Room This will be an introductory workshop to compassionate communication. We will scratch the surface of empathy and compassion, compassionate listening, and nonviolent communication. Event is free and open to the public. Atomic Film Series: The China Syndrome, June 28th

When: Thursday, June 28th, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm Where: The Trident Coffee House, Sandbox Theater, 940 Pearl St, Boulder "If you've ever wondered about nuclear power... see this 1979 American thriller film that tells the story of a television reporter and her cameraman who discover safety cover-ups at a nuclear power plant. It stars Jane Fonda, Jack Lemmon and Michael Douglas." The film was released on March 16th, 1979, (coincidentally) 12 days before the Three Mile Island nuclear disaster. The basis for the film came from a number of nuclear plant incidents. And now, of course, we have the tragedy of Fukushima. RSVP here.

Anti-War Demonstration, June 30th

When: Saturday, June 30th, 11am - 12pm Where: Canyon and Broadway, Boulder, CO We'll carry signs opposing wars against Russia, Syria, North Korea, Afghanistan, etc. Let's be visible in our opposition to war! We'll have some signs or bring your own. More info carolyn@rmpjc.org or 720-509-3378. We'll hold anti-war demonstrations most (but not all) Saturdays. Watch our emails for the announcements. The demo will be cancelled in the event of the following weather: snow, rain, high winds or a temperature below 30 degrees by 10 am

Rocky Flats Right to Know Meeting

When: Wednesday, June 27th, 7 pm Where: Trinity Presbyterian Church, 7755 Vance Dc, Arvada Hear from Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center members about their recent "DC Days" trip, which included meetings with Colorado representatives, Department of Energy Representatives, and US Fish and Wildlife. Learn where those representatives stand on opening the Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge and how you can take action to help us keep it closed. Click here for more information.
