Statement from Veterans for Peace

This Memorial Day we remember all who have died in war and understand that no one wins in war. Many of us have been personally touched by war. But we must also extend that mourning. We must remember the civilian victims, and their families, who are all equally human beings. Click here to read the full statement.

Matt Nicodemus has been studying and agitating against proposals in our government to reinstate the draft. A draft would enable the US government to wage wars on even more countries than the 6 wars we have now. Potluck at 6pm. Matt will speak at 7pm.

Vets for Peace present Carlos Valverde from the Working Families Party. Potluck dinner at 6pm; speaker at 7 p.m.. Try to bring your own plate and cup to save on waste.

January 1, 2019

When: Sunday, January 6th, 6 pm

Where: First United Methodist, 1421 Spruce St, Boulder

Our speaker will be Dr. Ron Forthofer who will talk about the history of US foreign policy and its present-day form.

Potluck dinner at 6pm. Ron will speak at 7.

The speaker will be Nathan Schneider, a faculty member in the CU Communications Department. Nathan has published a book about cooperatives and will speak about economic democracy. Potluck dinner is at 6. Nathan will speak at 7.

Vets for Peace present Marcelo Mainzer who will communicate his vision of egalitarian eco-village districts built by 175 homeless veterans and run as co-ops. Potluck dinner at 6pm. Marcelo will speak at 7.

October 3, 2018


When: Sunday, October 7th, 7 pm

Speaker this month is Dr Pieter Tans, chief of the Carbon Cycle Greenhouse Gasses Group at the NOAA Global Monitoring Division. He will be talking about man's impact on climate. Potluck dinner at 6. Pieter Tans will speak at 7.

A potluck begins at 6 PM and Brian Toon will speak at 7 PM. Bring friends and please bring reusable plates and cups.
