Are You Drinking Radioactive Water in Colorado?

Over 31,000 citizens in Colorado are drinking water that is radioactive, and does not meet federal safety guidelines designed to protect human health.

That's according to information gathered by our state agency responsible for the safety of our drinking water, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Over 45 water systems in the state are affected, but the count could be even higher, as some water systems are not in compliance with reporting requirements either.

And most of the people in community water systems affected by this are still being supplied this radioactive water, and drinking it.

Is your family affected? What's causing this? And what's being done about it?

Safe Water Colorado, a new project sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center, is investigating.
